As you navigate your new normal and try to keep informed of the ever-changing COVID-19 situation, remember to look to official sources for the most up-to-date and verified information. Your state Chiropractic Association, Board of Examiners, World Health Organization, and the CDC are some great resources to help keep yourself, your office staff, and patients apprised of accurate information regarding chiropractic and safety protocols during this unusual time.

Important Resources to Bookmark

The CDC and WHO have a wide set of helpful educational resources to use in office and share with patients. Below are a few of the most helpful or relevant resources to stay informed and educate your communities.

Chiropractic Information Authorities

The World Federation of Chiropractic, American Chiropractic Association, and the International Chiropractic Association are also great resources to find chiropractic-specific information. A current timely topic is which states consider Doctors of Chiropractic an essential healthcare provider. These sites should be your first stop to find information such as this so that you can best judge what modifications, if any, need to be made to your office hours or if a switch to virtual patient care is right for you. These organizations are working hard to stay up to date on relevant information regarding COVID-19 and how to address it with your patients.

Another consideration is what the chiropractic authorities caution against saying. The ACA and some state associations have shared strong warnings against any marketing and advertising that suggests chiropractic care can cure or lessen symptoms of or prevent COVID 19. According to the ACA website, “…some claims being made that spinal adjustments can boost immunity and decrease the risk of contracting COVID-19. While spinal manipulations are effective for a number of conditions, there is no quality evidence to support that they can improve immunity to COVID-19.”

Social Media

Social listening, or keeping tabs on the news shared via social media, can be another great way to wade through the developments coming from these organizations as well as others not mentioned here. While social media can be helpful in discovering content you may not have otherwise known about, be sure that you are only sharing and making decisions based on news reported by official government or chiropractic authoritative sources so as to prevent the spread of misinformation.

The ChiroTouch Facebook and LinkedIn pages are two such places where you can find official news reports on topics that affect chiropractors from accredited sources. Please like or follow us for this information. ChiroTouch is here to be of service to those in the chiropractic profession. We are all in this together!
