On November 22, 2016, the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services announced a change to the 2016 reporting requirements.
Each year, CMS advises reporters that they have 12 months to achieve compliance for the Meaningful Use incentive program. Often toward the end of the reporting period, CMS offers the option of attesting to a full 12 months or choosing a reporting period that consists of 90 consecutive days or more.
According to the recent ruling, all returning reporters will have the option to report for a minimum of 90 days from January 1st to December 31st, 2016, as well as any time frame more than 90 days, that proves compliance.
Please refer to the CMS website to ensure that you have the most accurate and up to date information.
