‘If they knew what you knew, they’d do what you do’. Our profession has struggled for 115 years because our communities at large don’t ‘know what we know’. In chiropractic offices, that shows up as a lack of new patients and a low conversion of people to lifetime wellness care. In this webinar, I’ll share the 7 proven strategies to communicate real value and send your conversions through the roof without any selling, slick gimmicks or stress so that you can create the practice of your dreams.

The First Step

07-12-2010

The theme in my practice was for our practice members to develop the mindset that their patients would have to be crazy to ever go anywhere else for their care.  So, we developed systems to deliver on this premise.  We also created communications strategies to foster the idea that care was a “family affair” in our office. We instituted “Ritz Carlton” staff meetings so that we could, as the Ritz Carlton does, meet and exceed the stated and unstated expectations of our practice members.

Are You Thriving In These Economic Times?

08-17-2009

Who is thriving during these economic times? Chiropractors who are changing their game are! The truth is, in times like these, if you keep doing the same thing you’ve always done, your numbers will go down. When the circumstances change (which they have), to have a thriving practice you need to get better at everything you do! This means your skills, your service, and most of all your communications.

In downturn economies, healthcare is one of the industries that continues to experience growth. The trouble is that people are not looking in the yellow pages for a Chiropractor to find health!

Whoever Saves One Life Saves the World in Time

07-04-2009

These words were written thousands of years before chiropractic but they represent our purpose and define our objective more clearly than any words written before or since. It is your purpose to save their life and the life of their family and everyone else they know one person at a time. As I continue on this journey I am more convinced today that we chiropractors are the last true hope for the people we serve. It is our vision on health and the choices we offer our patient’s that will save their lives. I am also convinced that all of us need to do a better job. We need to get serious and start working together if we are ever to change the paradigm of those we care for. How do we start such a large and what seems impossible task? One person, one patient, one life at a time.

The Power of Influence

07-03-2009

We all know that most patients come into our clinics motivated by pain. As chiropractors addressing the cause of health problems, the subluxated spine, we attempt to teach our patients about the true, underlying cause of their health condition as well as their pain. Sometimes we are successful and patients commit to a corrective program and sometimes they are only committed until their pain is gone. Our Challenge as purpose driven chiropractors is if they quit when their pain is gone we are left feeling dissatisfied, frustrated and let down because they did not understand our message. How could we have taught them more effectively? The problem begins when we don’t know the answer.

Road Blocks

07-02-2009

Traffic

There you are in your car stuck in traffic. Cars seem to be backed up for as far as you can see. You are watching the clock wondering what the hold up is, and desperately trying to think of a way to get around the lineup of other drivers. Once you get to a certain point in the road, all of a sudden everything seems to open up and you’re moving again. There are no signs of an accident or stranded vehicles so you’re left wondering what the trouble had been in the first place.

Many times in practice we reach points where our growth will start to stagnate. There are invisible ceilings that restrict us and increase our frustration as we continually attempt to figure out ways to get around these evasive walls. The greatest danger that can occur when we are stuck in these positions is that we grow complacent, or burn ourselves out and lose interest in reaching our goals.

Preface: Summer of Mentors

06-03-2009

As was once said, a smart person doesn’t make the same mistake twice. A wise person doesn’t make the mistakes others have already made. Working with mentors is one of the most powerful ways to accelerate your success. How valuable would it be to discover the secrets of success directly from others who have already done what you want to do? Wouldn’t it be great to leapfrog over the most common mistakes and avoid common traps and pitfalls? Good mentors can change your life; they’ve changed mine. If you already have a mentor consider writing them a personal note to say “thanks for making such a difference in my life”. If you don’t already have a mentor, find one. It’s one of the most valuable ways to achieve your greatness.

Who Needs Coaching?

06-03-2009

If you are a high performance athlete, a virtuoso musician, a politician in the public eye, or a top shelf entrepreneur, you wouldn’t think of functioning without advisors, mentors, and coaches to help you and support you, in interpreting the current landscape, planning your strategic actions, and correcting your course based on feedback and results.

Why, then, do so many chiropractors attempt to go it alone, in such a challenging marketplace?

Most chiropractors were spawned as rugged individualists, and got more independent from there. The very nature of chiropractic practice is a self-portrait, designed in the image of those influences each DC considers significant, as unique as a fingerprint.

Why Do Coaches Love Practice Management Software?

06-02-2009

Coaching and practice management have been a part of chiropractic since the days when Dr. Karl Parker first began teaching his seminars. Chiropractors that went to school to learn the skills of doctoring came out prepared to love and serve, and with the realization that they also needed to understand how to run a business. These doctors needed to be taught patient acquisition, retention, billing, collections, documentation, communication and a myriad of other skills necessary to keep a practice alive and thriving.

In the past coaches had to spend a great deal of time teaching doctors and staff administrative procedures to improve efficiency and certainty in the office . Out of these brilliant systems came ideas that led to the creation of travel cards, filing systems, schedule books, and other innovations.
